Why Do I Need Physical Rehabilitation Care?
Even highly trained atheletes, avid tennis players and excellent golfers come into our practice with issues. After we work to correct the current problem, it’s important that we make sure they don’t have another occurrence. Therapeutic exercises are designed to give you the tools to continue supporting your health goals.
Muscles are the primary stabilizers of our joints. When joint issues arise, following the exercises we give in the office can affect how fast you heal. Continuing to follow the appropriate exercise routine at home will keep you healthy.
Our specialists will work with you, training you as to what exercises are beneficial for you. Even more important, you learn how to do them properly. Many of the exercises we do are familiar but most people perform them incorrectly. Performing the correct way to do an exercise can actually prevent further injury.
What Can I Expect?
Rehabilitation exercises are specifically prescribed based on the patient’s condition. There are three stages of injury – acute, subacute and chronic. The exercises may focus on one joint and 1-2 muscle groups or several joints and muscle groups at the same time. The number of repetitions required is also dependent on the patient and their treatment goals.
